Hi Ya'All, Really looking forward to making this one and seeing all these faces I don't recognize anymore%uD83D%uDE04 Thank goodness for name tags . Hopefully at least one of you will " Remember" me ... Cheers, Belinda
Looking forward to seeing friends from the past.
I really enjoyed the entire reunion: "Old" friends and classmates; Great location, events schedule, food, drinks, music, etc. My thanks go out to all of the people envolved in planning, staging, and executing a near perfect 50th reunion experience. Good Work!! Thank you. I hope you can do it again in 2022, but fully respect your right to retire on a high note. I'm way too lazy to organize on that scale. Hasta luego amigos.
I look forward to attending my first W. B. Ray Hight School reunion and catching up with many of you......Those days were truly exciting and unique times.............See everyone in May....
40 years??? Where? When? Married and living in Scotland. Would love to make the reunion but rather doubt it. Y'all have a blast and post lots of photos on here!
Hey all......been lots of places and haven't age a day! Ok......maybe! But still 18 in my mind! Get in touch. See lots of familiar names and memories race as I recall the days at Ray.
Any news on whereabouts or contact information on Ray 62-65 & King 65-66 band members would be greatly appreciated. Hard to believe my baby faced good looks have stayed with me for 44 years. In order to avoid embarrassing any of you who have aged normally, I\'ve not been to any reunions. But as I now look as if I may be approaching 40, that may change. " Sarcasm off"
For those of you who attended Casa Linda Elementary School, it is closing it doors May 2011. There will be a closing ceremony on May 19th for those who would like to attend.
My friend and our classmate Richard Valent passed away in March 2019. I knew Dickie from the 1st grade in Elizabeth School (now Allen). Had not seen him in years but we met again at the 40th year HS reunion and stayed in touch. He went out of his way! About 8-10 years ago I met a partially-blind, disabled veteran in Yorktown, TX who knew Dickie, Castulo and David Davila very well from high school. Seeing he was quite excited to hear about his old friends, I emailed Dickie and Castulo shortly after my visit and asked them to send the veteran a card - it would certainly make his day. I found out later they did not sent a card but all drove from Corpus to Yorktown and spent the better part of the day with the veteran! About a month later, the veteran calls me up out of the blue and tells me about the visit. He said it was the best day he had had in years - his disability prevented any long distance traveling. I thank God and our Lord Jesus Christ that those three veterans went out of their way to brighten the day of a veteran who essentially was stationary - Thank you Dickie, Castulo and David!
Beverly Joan Melton Sorenson Becker I am Joan's niece. My Aunt was class of 1968 Ray High School. The attached link is her obituary for those that knew her. She always talked about Corpus and Ray High School. http://beresfordfunerals.com/obituaries/Obit.html?id=107378 God Bless her. Maria Horn Galvez ktmedic484@comcast.net
Charles Sportsman contacted me. Living in and lovin Austin.
(Reposted from the Facebook page)I spent only two years in Corpus Christi - 1974-76. I moved from Dallas and I finished the end of sixth grade at (then new) Sanders elementary; did the full year of 7th grade at Tom Browne Jr. High, then moved to New Jersey and eventually back to Dallas to graduate with the same people I left several years earlier. If I remember correctly, the schools I attended in Corpus Christi fed into Carroll High School. But here\'s a weird story. During college in the early 1980s, I was a checker at a grocery store in Richardson, TX. Over time, back then at least, you would make friends with certain customers and they would make sure to go through your checkout. One such friend was Tai-Shan Barnett.I was an art student, and when she came into the store one day and told me that she was expecting a child, I made sure the next time I was working to bring her one of my drawings as a gift. Eventually, her son Sterling had this drawing hanging over his crib. Tai-Shan and I maintained a casual friendship and I filled her in on my new and sudden family from Russia when that happened in the mid-1990s. And then of course we lost touch. I was just thinking about her today and decided to google her name - and was shocked to see her name on the "In Memory Of" page connected with Ray High School class of 1967 (her maiden name was Parnall). She had told me that her father named her after the Tai-Shan mountains in Korea (where he fought during that war), but I had no idea that she had ever lived in Corpus Christi. She was a very nice woman and I am sad to know that she has passed away. Does anyone know what happened to her and when? and how can I contact her husband Bill Barnett to offer belated condolences?
Hope to make it the last one had great memories. Eddie your into everything, great job keeping in touch.
So sorry to miss the 50th! Enjoyed the comments, photos etc. I live in Virginia, am retired RN, have a 28 yr old son and 43 yr old stepson and 2 beautiful grandchildren. Seems impossible we are all so old!!The "In Memory" list is so long and faces come into my head as I read the names. Life is indeed short and each day a blessing. Gail
Hi guys, 40 years have flown by. I've been married to Doolie Stanton (Ray '65) for over 30 years. We have two girls...one's married and one's engaged. We live near them in Dickinson, Texas and are enjoying retirement as former educators. I can't wait to see everyone, and cab7I'm going on a diet TOMORROW. Bonnie
Married for 33 years to Ginny Chase class of '72. 3 grown children with only 1 granddaughter. All are teachers in the Cy-Fair school district.
Sad to hear of the passing of Diane Roberts Rose. She certainly made English class tolerable. We sat in the back and shared notes. However, I was glad to hear she was a Christian. I imagine she's having a great time with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. ernie
Hola, What a surprise to have the opportunity to see old classmates. I have been so busy in my career that I never made the time to contact anyone. The Ray High School re-union will be a great time to do this. I am truly looking forward to this. Hasta Luego, Minerva
Living the coffee life in Seattle. See you in May!
I have got to try and make this one. The big 40! I can't believe that it is 40 years. Took a look at the year book. Everyone looks so young! Living in Austin. Retired from TxDOT. Working another job for an engineering company from home.
I only made it to the Sunday lunch at Joe's, but it was great seeing all the Buckaroos. Thanks Eddie for getting me back in touch with old friends. I can't believe that I've known anyone for 52 years. Wow. Great seeing all the old Elizabeth Street Elementary kids again. Loved it all. Cathy Habib Park
Thanks, Jeanne and Linda, for all your hard work which allowed some of us to at least re-connect with all our 'old' friends by e-mail. I heard it was great, but sorry I could not be there, but when your Mother-in-law is 105 and is calling for us to visit, we must. We had not seen her since Christmas. BUT, there will be more good reunions coming up. Good thing we have made it this far. God Bless you all. Love ya, Martha
Ditto everything Chuck Baskin said!!! It was the best reunion ever and they've all been great fun. It's always fun to get caught up with old friends and make new ones.
Dear Fellow Classmates, As I sit here thinking about how wonderful this past weekend was, I want to reinforce several things that I had thought were true but now know are true: The common bond all of us share is the most important thing, all people were truly glad to see each other, and we are getting to the point we can accept the differences in people and love them anyway. The reuion was fantastic and we will do it again. All of those who played a part in the organization and planning however large are small deserve all of our thanks. I especially want to thank Terri Stokes Sherwood for all her work on the memory boards (a grim reminder for all of us to live our lives) and the large name tags we could all see!
Can't wait to see everyone!!! I've been married 36 years to Dixon ....and living in Katy, TX.
It was great. I had so much fun, and enjoyed seeing so many friends. I only hate that this was my first. I look forward to more. Thanks Jeanne and Linda for everything that ya'll did organizing everything and Steve and Phyllis for all the work and time that ya'll put into the hospitiality room.
My father, Charles Davenport, was Band Director at RHS during the 1960's. I was born in Corpus Christi in 1967, so my earliest memories center around Ray and all the stories and fond memories my dad shared with us. My dad treasured his time at Ray. He passed away in 1999.
Great to see everyone is doing well! It's so hard to believe 40 years have gone by so fast.
To everyone who came and celebrated our 40th Reunion - it was really great seeing you - come back again - I missed talking to so many people. The night was memorable, great times were shared and old friendships were rekindled. A huge thanks to all who came from near and far to celebrate with us! Now the next question, does anyone have any pictures that they can share with us. Please forward them to Linda Avery, Phyllis Stephenson or me. We are working on the min-annual. Hope to see you at the 60th Birthday Party in 2009! Jeanne Goodhew
What a great 50th reunion that the entire Committee put over a year of effort into for all of us. For those who came - it was wonderful seeing you all again and catching up with what you have done in the last 10 years (or more). For those that didn't make it - sorry you didn't come and know you were missed. It's amazing that every reunion just gets better and better and that's because of those who work so hard to arrange the details and the magnificient Hospitality Suite that gives us such a great chance to really meet, greet, re-connect - often with people we didn't really know well in school. As always - we had some who come every reunion and some who came for the 10th or maybe the 20th and never again until this reunion. As always, we had some "first timers" and they are always so appreciated. If you have never come back for a Ray '67 Reunion - now the Ray-King '67 Reunion - you are missing out on a great weekend. Special thanks to Jeanne Goodhew, our "keeper of the list" - she makes every effort to stay connected to the Classes of 1967. Congratulations to the Entire committee for another really excellent job - I bet they want to hide under a bed when they heard all the calls of "We have to have a 55th Reunion". If they do ..... we will certainly be there. Great time had by all. Thank You!
I am excited that there is the possibility of a 60th birthday party in '09. I will get there from California if I can. We are in TX for the fall - at Baylor. We are enjoying the old home state.
hey everyone, there were 2 sherri longs--i'm the short one. i've never been contacted for any reunions due to my last name changes i guess. thanks eddie for the call. i hope to see everyone there. i'm living in austin and happy. email me!
Thank you to everyone who planned the reunion. It was a great party with my "oldest" friends!
Darn! Just heard about the 40th reunion. I was even in Texas at the time (visiting my middle son who just moved to Austin). I have been in Grand Junction, CO since 1988, and happily married to Steve since 1975. Have 3 boys and 2 grandkids! Hard to believe! Helping plan the 20th was way fun, sorry I missed this one. Please put me on the contact list for the next one! Would love to hear from any of my "old" friends.
I was glad to see the announcement of our reunion in the Caller this morning. Yes, I STILL live in Corpus. Whodathunkit? I look forward to seeing all of you. Hopefully, there will be name tags!!! :) I graduated from King in '67. Where has the time gone?!? A special 'Thank You' to all those who have gone to the trouble to put this together for us.

First time I've seen this web site, it's great. Will try to make the 60th. Thanks to Robert Leos for letting me know about it. Living the dream in Seabrook, Texas.
Hey All, Seems I missed every reunion there is. So next one please email me! Hopefully I will still be alive!
I am living in Colorado. I cannot wait to see everyone.
I am excited just seeing your names again.
I've never been to one of these before and if my health permits, I hope to attend this one.
This is continued from my last entry--I'm still talking (no really) I was married for 27 years and have 3 grown children: Matt, Lindsey and Jeff Park. 2 live in Austin and 1 in CC. Myself, I live in Skidmore, Texas where I have taught school for the last 20 years. I would retire but then I wouldn't have a captive audience that I could talk to all day. So hoping I can come this year. Bye. Cathy
Thanks for the tribute to the veterans of the military services, what a nice thing to do. My husband was in the Air Force for 22 years and we moved so many times, lived so many places, and unfortunately have lost so many friends, that opening up the website and hearing the music was very uplifting. Thanks for remembering our troops for serving and please continue to remember them as they continue to serve.
I was only able to attend one reunion back in 92\', but had a great time. I will be at next one. 50th. Yay. I am available to help any way I can. Also would someone please put my name on the veterans list. United States Air Force Security Service 1998-1977 Thanks & looking forward to reunion, Richard Childress
Thanks to all that have taken the time to put our 40th together! This should be very interesting and fun. Hope to see all of you there.
