My friend and our classmate Richard Valent passed away in March 2019.  I knew Dickie from the 1st grade in Elizabeth School (now Allen).  Had not seen him in years but we met again at the 40th year HS reunion and stayed in touch.   He went out of his way!  About 8-10 years ago I met a partially-blind, disabled veteran in Yorktown, TX who knew Dickie, Castulo and David Davila very well from high school.   Seeing he was quite excited to hear about his old friends, I emailed Dickie and Castulo shortly after my visit and asked them to send the veteran a card - it would certainly make his day.  I found out later they did not sent a card but all drove from Corpus to Yorktown and spent the better part of the day with the veteran!  About a month later, the veteran calls me up out of the blue and tells me about the visit.   He said it was the best day he had had in years - his disability prevented any long distance traveling.    I thank God and our Lord Jesus Christ that those three veterans went out of their way to brighten the day of a veteran who essentially was stationary - Thank you Dickie, Castulo and David!

Sad to hear of the passing of Diane Roberts Rose.  She certainly made English class tolerable.  We sat in the back and shared notes.  However, I was glad to hear she was a Christian.  I imagine she's having a great time with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

So sorry to miss the 50th! Enjoyed the comments, photos etc. I live in Virginia, am retired RN, have a 28 yr old son and 43 yr old stepson and 2 beautiful grandchildren. Seems impossible we are all so old!!The "In Memory" list is so long and faces come into my head as I read the names. Life is indeed short and each day a blessing. Gail

I really enjoyed the entire reunion: "Old" friends and classmates; Great location, events schedule, food, drinks, music, etc.  My thanks go out to all of the people envolved in planning, staging, and executing a near perfect 50th reunion experience. Good Work!! Thank you.      I hope you can do it again in 2022, but fully respect your right to retire on a high note. I'm way too lazy to organize on that scale. Hasta luego amigos.

Dear Fellow Classmates, As I sit here thinking about how wonderful this past weekend was, I want to reinforce several things that I had thought were true but now know are true:  The common bond all of us share is the most important thing, all people were truly glad to see each other, and we are getting to the point we can accept the differences in people and love them anyway.  The reuion was fantastic and we will do it again. All of those who played a part in the organization and planning however large are small deserve all of our thanks.  I especially want to thank Terri Stokes Sherwood for all her work on the memory boards (a grim reminder for all of us to live our lives) and the large name tags we could all see!

What a great 50th reunion that the entire Committee put over a year of effort into for all of us.  For those who came - it was wonderful seeing you all again and catching up with what you have done in the last 10 years (or more).  For those that didn't make it - sorry you didn't come and know you were missed. It's amazing that every reunion just gets better and better and that's because of those who work so hard to arrange the details and the magnificient Hospitality Suite that gives us such a great chance to really meet, greet, re-connect - often with people we didn't really know well in school.  As always - we had some who come every reunion and some who came for the 10th or maybe the 20th and never again until this reunion.  As always, we had some "first timers" and they are always so appreciated.    If you have never come back for a Ray '67 Reunion - now the Ray-King '67 Reunion - you are missing out on a great weekend.  Special thanks to Jeanne Goodhew, our "keeper of the list" - she makes every effort to stay connected to the Classes of 1967. Congratulations to the Entire committee for another really excellent job - I bet they want to hide under a bed when they heard all the calls of "We have to have a 55th Reunion". If they do ..... we will certainly be there.  Great time had by all.  Thank You!

I attended King in 1966 as a junior.  My maiden name is Christine Moore and I have been trying to find some classmates who graduated there in 1967.  Their names at graduation were Connie Perriloux, Debbie Truax, and Wayne Lord (who graduated in 1966).  If you know them or have heard anything that could help me find them, please contact me at this Email (stegall.christine@yahoo.com) thanks!!

Any news on whereabouts or contact information on Ray 62-65 & King 65-66 band members would be greatly appreciated. Hard to believe my baby faced good looks have stayed with me for 44 years. In order to avoid embarrassing any of you who have aged normally, I\'ve not been to any reunions. But as I now look as if I may be approaching 40, that may change. " Sarcasm off"

(Reposted from the Facebook page)
I spent only two years in Corpus Christi - 1974-76. I moved from Dallas and I finished the end of sixth grade at (then new) Sanders elementary; did the full year of 7th grade at Tom Browne Jr. High, then moved to New Jersey and eventually back to Dallas to graduate with the same people I left several years earlier. If I remember correctly, the schools I attended in Corpus Christi fed into Carroll High School.

But here\'s a weird story. During college in the early 1980s, I was a checker at a grocery store in Richardson, TX. Over time, back then at least, you would make friends with certain customers and they would make sure to go through your checkout. One such friend was Tai-Shan Barnett.

I was an art student, and when she came into the store one day and told me that she was expecting a child, I made sure the next time I was working to bring her one of my drawings as a gift. Eventually, her son Sterling had this drawing hanging over his crib.

Tai-Shan and I maintained a casual friendship and I filled her in on my new and sudden family from Russia when that happened in the mid-1990s. And then of course we lost touch.

I was just thinking about her today and decided to google her name - and was shocked to see her name on the "In Memory Of" page connected with Ray High School class of 1967 (her maiden name was Parnall). She had told me that her father named her after the Tai-Shan mountains in Korea (where he fought during that war), but I had no idea that she had ever lived in Corpus Christi.

She was a very nice woman and I am sad to know that she has passed away. Does anyone know what happened to her and when? and how can I contact her husband Bill Barnett to offer belated condolences?

The one and only Ray reunion I've attended was our 10th. I was young, thin and fairly good looking and thought I'd rather people remember me that way! Although, now that I'm older (a LOT older), those things don't really matter any more, do they? Please keep me posted on future reunions or get-togethers. I live in Houston, but my folks are back in Corpus and I visit quite often.

My father, Charles Davenport, was Band Director at RHS during the 1960's.  I was born in Corpus Christi in 1967, so my earliest memories center around Ray and all the stories and fond memories my dad shared with us.  My dad treasured his time at Ray.  He passed away in 1999.

Thanks for the tribute to the veterans of the military services, what a nice thing to do.  My husband was in the Air Force for 22 years and we moved so many times, lived so many places, and unfortunately have lost so many friends, that opening up the website and hearing the music was very uplifting. Thanks for remembering our troops for serving and please continue to remember them as they continue to serve.

To everyone who came and celebrated our 40th Reunion - it was really great seeing you - come back again - I missed talking to so many people. The night was memorable, great times were shared and old friendships were rekindled. A huge thanks to all who came from near and far to celebrate with us! Now the next question, does anyone have any pictures that they can share with us. Please forward them to Linda Avery, Phyllis Stephenson or me. We are working on the min-annual. Hope to see you at the 60th Birthday Party in 2009! Jeanne Goodhew

I have been in Grand Junction, CO since 1988, and happily married to Steve since 1975. Have 3 boys and 2 grandkids! Hard to believe! Helping plan the 20th was way fun, sorry I missed this one. OH MY GOSH!!! I woke up this morning, realizing that we were celebrating our 40th, and immediately tried to find details on the festivities. I sadly was informed that I was "a smidge" late. David and I recently moved from Houston to the Dallas area and have lost contact with everyone from Corpus. Would someone please bring me up to speed on a few things. I sadly saw that Colleen Bell, Helen (Ginny) Bachor, Randy Grissom, and Diana Hec have died. What happened to these dear hearts? Also, EDDIE MARTIN, how did we lose you? You were the one reason David was willing to attend these reunions...(He knew you from "a past life") Bonnie Goode, your dimples have not changed one bit! Deborah Nichols, Cherry Hoover, Martha Holley........???? So curious....and sad we missed the fun time. Please put us on the list for the next "get together". THANKS! Mickie

I heard it was great, but sorry I could not be there, but when your Mother-in-law is 105 and is calling for us to visit, we must. We had not seen her since Christmas. Greetings fellow Texans and proverbial Woodstockers. What a long, strange trip it’s been. I’ve been in Seattle since 1974. Unfortunately I will not be able to join you for this gala event. Thanks, Jeanne, for contacting me about the reunion and to all of you who put the whole thing together, including the web site. One of the first pics I saw in the class photos was of 3 generations of one family. I thought that’s nice, that one of my classmates posted a picture of their kids and their parents. Then I realized that the grandparents were my ’67 classmates! Wow…..where has the time gone? Mr. Ferguson, wherever you are, thanks for that great math training---with slide rules no less! I hung onto those Algebra notes until a few months ago, foolishly thinking that my kids would use them. To my fellow tennis team members, hope your still strokin’ em in the over 55 leagues! See you at the 50th?

It's a bit frightening to realize how quickly time passes - 40 years was yesterday and a life time ago. I was at the 20th reunion to visit with Angela Hill. Enjoyed a party at Shannon Smith's mother's home. Wish I had learned of this reunion earlier so I could have arranged to be there. Like Angela, I hope there will be a 45th and I would enjoy being there. I am living in California - far from Texas, but hoping to retire to Albuquerque soon.

It's fun to read all the postings from classmates. Much has happened in the ensuing 40 years. If someone had told me back in '67 that I'd be living in Manhattan, I'd have thought they needed their head examined. But that's where I've been for the past 20 someodd years. I married a New Yorker, and though that didn't work out, I stayed in the City and it's home for now. One of my sisters lives in Austin, so I get to Texas once or twice a year. I plan to attend the reunion's Friday night cocktail party and am looking forward to seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and doing some sightseeing in Corpus Christi. See you all soon! I have not seen or heard from any friends from High School in over 25 years. I miss friends that go all the way back Parkdale Elementary and Frazier Elementary. Came to Fort Worth December 1981 to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. My wife, Kay (Mary Carroll High 1972), have two children one son born in Corpus 1979 and the other daughter in Fort Worth in 1986. I am now a career seminry staffer in charge of the Telecommunications & Automated Controls Systems. I have a small side business as a computer consultant (Higher Power Enterprises). I spent 30 years in Corpus until 1981. I have served as a pastor and men's minister through PromiseKeepers. I now "pastor" young ministers here at Southwestern. God's calling in my life has never failed and is my goal to follow...

Hi, Everyone! I can't believe we're all about to be 60 soon. I'm in Hawaii, building a house (I do that now) but I usually live just outside New York City. I wonder if any of you really remember who I am. I read your comments and marvel at how many of you are still in touch with each other. I left Ray before I graduated in 1967 and have always had this sense of not fitting in there, but maybe at this point, we've all grown up enough that none of us fit in there! I wish I could make it to Corpus for the reunion, but my newest granddaughter is planning to be born that week, so I'll be in Savannah, where my son and his wife live. If there is anyone out there who knows who I am or remembers anything about me, email me and jog my memory. I'd love to catch up! Aloha! Nancy email: lavatreenancy@hotmail.com

Where have all the years gone? It is just so hard to believe that I am almost 58 years old. So much has happened. I have had 6 children. 5 boys and 1 girl. My daughter Tina was born in 1968 and murdered in 1986. My boys are 18, 20, 29, 31 & 36. Jon lives in Alaska and has two little boys, Kyle is a freshman in college in Florida, Shane is a sophomore at USC in Los Angeles, Ben is a welder here in Washington and Michael is a para legal here in Washington. Miss CC, but West Texas has been great for the past 23 years. Lubbock doesn't have much of a beach scene, however, the mountains of New Mexico are only 4 hours away and my wife, Susie (Midland) and our 2 girls spend as much time at the cabin as possible. Thanks for the time and effort it took to put this site together. Hope to be at the reunion. Todd

Hello everyone! I am so glad to know that we are having a reunion! Thank you to all the organizers! I left Ray and moved to Friendswood my Junior year so missed the graduation and all the senior fun in CC. I am in Austin (where I have been since 1967) with four kids and three grandchildren. Well, like the rest of the gang...I cannot believe that most of us have managed to make it to this ripe old age. The rumor of my passing has been (fortunately) untrue...and I'm still here to see what the ravages of time has wrought upon each and every one of us! I'm gonna be there with bells on and hope that each and every one of you that remembers me takes a moment to write, as I would love to hear from you! I am tired of looking at the obituaries every day to dwell upon the time we have left and about those who have already done so. No really, I am not really THAT morose and I love to have fun...in all the context that made the 60's so memorable? I guess if you can remember the 60's and 70's, then you weren't doing the right drugs! Hugs and kisses until then! Ashley

WOW?! We can't be this old. Great site - thanks for all the work. Loved "Good Vibrations" - that song always takes me back to high school. I probably won't make it - teaching till June 15. It takes us a lot longer in California (where we've lived for 19 years) because of all the goofy things we add in!!! Have a great time!
