This looks great - look forward to seeing everyone again.
Looking forward to it! Thanks for putting this web site together. Here's mine: www.robertleos.com.
Hi everyone - I look forward to seeing those who can come, and hearing from anyone else who can't. I am living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, now.
Looking forward to the reunion...has it really been that long??? I am living in Austin and keeping it weird. See you in May.
Linda--Fantastic job on the website. Jeanne--same to you for all the work you've done on finding everyone. Wish I could help. Great music today. See you in May.
I only made it to the Sunday lunch at Joe's, but it was great seeing all the Buckaroos. Thanks Eddie for getting me back in touch with old friends. I can't believe that I've known anyone for 52 years. Wow. Great seeing all the old Elizabeth Street Elementary kids again. Loved it all. Cathy Habib Park
Thanks, Jeanne and Linda, for all your hard work which allowed some of us to at least re-connect with all our 'old' friends by e-mail. I heard it was great, but sorry I could not be there, but when your Mother-in-law is 105 and is calling for us to visit, we must. We had not seen her since Christmas. BUT, there will be more good reunions coming up. Good thing we have made it this far. God Bless you all. Love ya, Martha
Ditto everything Chuck Baskin said!!! It was the best reunion ever and they've all been great fun. It's always fun to get caught up with old friends and make new ones.
Dear Fellow Classmates, As I sit here thinking about how wonderful this past weekend was, I want to reinforce several things that I had thought were true but now know are true: The common bond all of us share is the most important thing, all people were truly glad to see each other, and we are getting to the point we can accept the differences in people and love them anyway. The reuion was fantastic and we will do it again. All of those who played a part in the organization and planning however large are small deserve all of our thanks. I especially want to thank Terri Stokes Sherwood for all her work on the memory boards (a grim reminder for all of us to live our lives) and the large name tags we could all see!
We are going to the Hooks Baseball Game, Thursday May 17 Seven O"Clock. Tickets are Ten Dollars each. Dinner before the game at Brewster Street Ice House close to the staduim. Let me know if you are coming with us, so I can buy the tickets. Eddie Martin
GO TEXANS!
Looking forward to seeing old friends!!!
WOW - How time flies. Many changes for all of us and some of us have ended up in places we never dreamed of - like Santa Barbara, CA
This is Fablous. Eddie
got a call out of the blue from Eddie Martin.....wow, I forgot all of you existed
Looking forward to reconnecting with everytone, tellling some stories and catching up after 40 years.
Can't wait to see everyone!!! I've been married 36 years to Dixon ....and living in Katy, TX.
I lost contact and was just wondering what has happened to everyone. Still have great memories even though I moved away and didn't graduate from Ray. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday...
Golfers! Just a reminder that we are still in the process of getting a small golf tournament going for saturday morning, May 19th. Please contact Wayne Vann @ jwvann@navyarmyfcu.com or myself if you would like to sign up. We currently have around 12 players but would like to have more if possible. Thanks, Gary
It was great. I had so much fun, and enjoyed seeing so many friends. I only hate that this was my first. I look forward to more. Thanks Jeanne and Linda for everything that ya'll did organizing everything and Steve and Phyllis for all the work and time that ya'll put into the hospitiality room.
My father, Charles Davenport, was Band Director at RHS during the 1960's. I was born in Corpus Christi in 1967, so my earliest memories center around Ray and all the stories and fond memories my dad shared with us. My dad treasured his time at Ray. He passed away in 1999.
Great to see everyone is doing well! It's so hard to believe 40 years have gone by so fast.
Thanks for keeping me on the list, even though I didn't graduate from Ray. I went to Wilson and Hamlin with so many of you and then on to IWA. I would love to attend the reunion, but my husband and I will be attending our daughter's 30th birthday party on the 19th. Best wishes and greetings to all of you. I will definately be at the next reunion. Vicki
Hello Texans. Wow.!!! Did you see how many of our classmates are gone? Way too many...didn't see my name on that list.....yet. I live at West Fork, Arkansas south of Fayetteville. Built an RV park here. Married for 30 years, one daughter...age 24. Would like to hear from old friends...especially band members. Let's do another reunion in 2017. I'll try to be there.
Linda and Jeanne, this weekend's parties were a BLAST! We all know that you two worked hard to get everything just right, from the Island Casual party to the Big Event, where you even had our senior pix, for all to see, in our yester-year glory. Let's NOT wait until our 50th reunion to get together again.
Oh, my-forty years just fell away (but not too far away) as I reunited with so many friends. Now I regret that this was my first time. Special kudos to Jeanne, Linda, and the rest of the committee who worked tirelessly to allow the rest of us to just saunter in and enjoy. Steve and Phyllis deserve extra special thanks for the everflowing food and spirits at the hospital room both nights. See all of you next time.
To everyone who came and celebrated our 40th Reunion - it was really great seeing you - come back again - I missed talking to so many people. The night was memorable, great times were shared and old friendships were rekindled. A huge thanks to all who came from near and far to celebrate with us! Now the next question, does anyone have any pictures that they can share with us. Please forward them to Linda Avery, Phyllis Stephenson or me. We are working on the min-annual. Hope to see you at the 60th Birthday Party in 2009! Jeanne Goodhew
What a great 50th reunion that the entire Committee put over a year of effort into for all of us. For those who came - it was wonderful seeing you all again and catching up with what you have done in the last 10 years (or more). For those that didn't make it - sorry you didn't come and know you were missed. It's amazing that every reunion just gets better and better and that's because of those who work so hard to arrange the details and the magnificient Hospitality Suite that gives us such a great chance to really meet, greet, re-connect - often with people we didn't really know well in school. As always - we had some who come every reunion and some who came for the 10th or maybe the 20th and never again until this reunion. As always, we had some "first timers" and they are always so appreciated. If you have never come back for a Ray '67 Reunion - now the Ray-King '67 Reunion - you are missing out on a great weekend. Special thanks to Jeanne Goodhew, our "keeper of the list" - she makes every effort to stay connected to the Classes of 1967. Congratulations to the Entire committee for another really excellent job - I bet they want to hide under a bed when they heard all the calls of "We have to have a 55th Reunion". If they do ..... we will certainly be there. Great time had by all. Thank You!
This looks great
I have not seen or heard from any friends from High School in over 25 years. I miss friends that go all the way back Parkdale Elementary and Frazier Elementary. Came to Fort Worth December 1981 to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. My wife, Kay (Mary Carroll High 1972), have two children one son born in Corpus 1979 and the other daughter in Fort Worth in 1986. I am now a career seminry staffer in charge of the Telecommunications & Automated Controls Systems. I have a small side business as a computer consultant (Higher Power Enterprises). I spent 30 years in Corpus until 1981. I have served as a pastor and men's minister through PromiseKeepers. I now "pastor" young ministers here at Southwestern. God's calling in my life has never failed and is my goal to follow...
Forty Years! Seems like it was just yesterday. I have just retired from CCISD after 35 years. My wife Yolanda also retired after 25 years. I spent 12 years teaching and coaching at Ray High School. Looking forward to seeing all my friends especially my football team mates. SEMPER FI!
WHAT A WONDERFUL REUNION!!! Thanks to all of the organizers for all of their great work - it was just awesome to see everyone again!! Thanks again so much!!
I wished I would have made this one. I know it would have been a blast after talking to Gary Rapier.
I am excited that there is the possibility of a 60th birthday party in '09. I will get there from California if I can. We are in TX for the fall - at Baylor. We are enjoying the old home state.
hey everyone, there were 2 sherri longs--i'm the short one. i've never been contacted for any reunions due to my last name changes i guess. thanks eddie for the call. i hope to see everyone there. i'm living in austin and happy. email me!
Thank you to everyone who planned the reunion. It was a great party with my "oldest" friends!
I was very excited to receive the 40th reunion information. I would love to be able to attend but as I live in Saudi Arabia and my leave time will not allow. I will be very disappointed to miss this reunion. I would very much like to have attendance list.
40 years is a long time but I'm really looking forward to this reunion and seeing my friends from 40 years ago and meeting new ones!
It's a bit frightening to realize how quickly time passes - 40 years was yesterday and a life time ago. I was at the 20th reunion to visit with Angela Hill. Enjoyed a party at Shannon Smith's mother's home. Wish I had learned of this reunion earlier so I could have arranged to be there. Like Angela, I hope there will be a 45th and I would enjoy being there. I am living in California - far from Texas, but hoping to retire to Albuquerque soon.
Great reunion - Thanks! Who was explaining 'Rightly Dividing' to me? Please get back to me at jehpe@earthlink.net - ernie
It's wonderful that everyone had such a great time, I really wish my husband and I could have attended. I hope some pictures will be posted so those of us that could not attend can enjoy seeing everyone. I would love hearing from everyone. I am also looking forward to an opportunity to have another reunion soon. Everyone take care.
Thanks to Jeanne, Eddie, Linda and anyone who helped put this reunion together. It really was the best. It is such a good feeling to reconnect with old friends. I'm looking forward til the next one. John Layton
Darn! Just heard about the 40th reunion. I was even in Texas at the time (visiting my middle son who just moved to Austin). I have been in Grand Junction, CO since 1988, and happily married to Steve since 1975. Have 3 boys and 2 grandkids! Hard to believe! Helping plan the 20th was way fun, sorry I missed this one. Please put me on the contact list for the next one! Would love to hear from any of my "old" friends.
I was glad to see the announcement of our reunion in the Caller this morning. Yes, I STILL live in Corpus. Whodathunkit? I look forward to seeing all of you. Hopefully, there will be name tags!!! :) I graduated from King in '67. Where has the time gone?!? A special 'Thank You' to all those who have gone to the trouble to put this together for us.
Sounds like a fun event. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.
Hi, Everyone! I can't believe we're all about to be 60 soon. I'm in Hawaii, building a house (I do that now) but I usually live just outside New York City. I wonder if any of you really remember who I am. I read your comments and marvel at how many of you are still in touch with each other. I left Ray before I graduated in 1967 and have always had this sense of not fitting in there, but maybe at this point, we've all grown up enough that none of us fit in there! I wish I could make it to Corpus for the reunion, but my newest granddaughter is planning to be born that week, so I'll be in Savannah, where my son and his wife live. If there is anyone out there who knows who I am or remembers anything about me, email me and jog my memory. I'd love to catch up! Aloha! Nancy email: lavatreenancy@hotmail.com
Where have all the years gone? It is just so hard to believe that I am almost 58 years old. So much has happened. I have had 6 children. 5 boys and 1 girl. My daughter Tina was born in 1968 and murdered in 1986. My boys are 18, 20, 29, 31 & 36. Jon lives in Alaska and has two little boys, Kyle is a freshman in college in Florida, Shane is a sophomore at USC in Los Angeles, Ben is a welder here in Washington and Michael is a para legal here in Washington. I can't wait to see everyone from King High School!
Jeanne, and Linda: This is no doubt the best reunion party I have ever attended. Thank you for putting your life on hold for six months, and making this party such a pleasureable experience. Oceans of Love, and kisses to both of you. Warm Personal Regards, Eddie Martin
